Ein Wärmedämm-Verbundsystem (abgekürzt WDVS) ist ein System mit aufeinander abgestimmten Baustoffen für die außenseitige Montage an Außenwänden von Gebäuden. Der Aufbau besteht aus einem Dämmstoff (an die Wand geklebt und/oder gedübelt), einer Putzträgerschicht (armierter Unterputz) und einer Oberflächenschicht mit Anstrich (Oberputz und Farbe). Der Hauptbestandteil – der Dämmstoff – bestimmt die grundlegenden technischen und energetischen Eigenschaften des WDVS. Die Montage der einzelnen Komponenten eines WDVS erfolgt erst auf der Baustelle.</common:generalComment>

Bei diesem Dokument handelt es sich um eine Muster-­EPD, bei der die Ökobilanz auf Basis der einzelnen zusammengeführten Komponenten-EPDs mit den höchsten Umweltlasten (worst case) für Kleber, Unter- und Oberputz berechnet wurde; hinsichtlich des Dämmstoffs werden generische Daten verwendet. Sie gilt ausschließlich für Wärmedämm-Verbundsysteme für Verbandsmitglieder; diese können der Verbandswebsite entnommen werden. Bei den Zahlenangaben, zum Beispiel für bautechnische Daten oder Konzentrationsangaben, handelt es sich um durchschnittliche praxisübliche Werte.

System boundary:
Typ der EPD: Wiege bis Werkstor - mit Optionen, d.h., Module C1-C4 und Modul D (A1-A3, C, D und zusätzliche Module: A4, A5, B1) . In der EPD werden die folgenden Lebenswegzyklusstadien berücksichtigt:
• Produktstadium (A1-A3)
• Stadium der Errichtung des Bauwerks (A4- A5)
• Nutzungsstadium (B1)
• Entsorgungsstadium (C1-C4)
• Nutzenpotentiale und Lasten außerhalb der Systemgrenzen (D)

Module A1-A3
Ein WDVS besteht aus verschiedenen Komponenten, die jeweils separat hergestellt und erst auf der Baustelle zu einem WDVS zusammengesetzt werden.

Die Systemgrenzen für die Herstellung des WDVS werden bis zur Herstellung und Bereitstellung der Systemkomponenten gezogen. Die EPD-Umweltergebnisse (Modul A1-A3) der Einzelkomponenten werden für die Berechnung der WDVS-EPDs herangezogen. Diese enthalten neben der Berücksichtigung des Energie- und Rohstoffeinsatzes bereits den Rohstofftransport, die Aufwendungen für Verpackungsmaterialien sowie ggf. die postindustrielle Abfallbehandlung. Für alle Materialien sind gültige EPDs vorhanden.

Stadium der Errichtung des Bauwerks (A4- A5)

Modul A4: Dieses Modul berücksichtigt einen LKW-Transport über 100 km zum Installationsort (Diesel-LKW, EURO 6, 40 Tonnen Gesamtlast, 61% Auslastung). Die Transportstrecke kann bei Bedarf durch lineare Skalierung projektspezifisch angepasst werden.

Modul A5: Der Stromverbrauch für die Installation (hauptsächlich der Einsatz von Handmaschinen) wurde berücksichtigt (7,57 MJ/m²). Behandlung und Entsorgung von Verpackungsmaterial. Gutschriften für mögliche vermiedene Belastungen durch energetische Substitution von Strom- und Wärmeenergieerzeugung werden in Modul D deklariert und betreffen nur den Anteil an eingesetztem Primärmaterial (keine Sekundärmaterialien).

Module B1

Karbonatisierung wird gemäß den VDPM Mörtel EPDs für mineralische Putze berücksichtigt.

Module C1 bis C4 und Modul D

Modul C1: Maschineller Rückbau (Bagger)
Modul C2: 50 km Transport mit Diesel-LKW, EURO 6, 40 Tonnen Gesamtlast, 61% Auslastung
Modul C3: Abfallaufbereitung (z.B. Zerkleinerung)
Modul C4: Deponierung des Gesamtsystems
Modul D: Gutschriften für die Substitution von elektrischer und thermischer Energie aus Erdgas (EU-Mix) aus der Verpackungsverwertung

Da Mineralwolle-Dämmstoff nicht brennbar bzw. keinen hohen Heizwert besitzt, wird er keiner Verbrennung zugeführt. Alle Komponenten werden nach der Abfallaufbereitung (C3) deponiert (C4). External Thermal Insulation Composite Systems (ETICS) consist of various components/pre-produced products, each of which has its own verified EPD. This document is a sample EPD in which the life cycle assessment is calculated on the basis of the individual assembled component EPDS with the highest environmental burdens (worst-case) for adhesives, base coat plaster and finish plaster; regarding the insulation material generic data are used. It applies exclusively to ETICS for association members; these can be found on the association’s website. For numerical values, for example for construction data or concentration figures, these are average, practically typical values.

System boundary:
Type of EPD: cradle-to-factory gate - with options, i.e., Modules C1-C4 and Module D (A1-A3, C, D and additional modules: A4, A5, B1). The EPD covers the following life-cycle stages:
• Product stage (A1-A3)
• Construction stage of the building (A4-A5)
• Use stage (B1)
• End-of-life stage (C1-C4)
• Benefits and burdens outside the system boundary (D)

Module A1-A3
An ETICS consists of various components, each manufactured separately and only at the construction site assembled into an ETICS.

The system boundaries for the manufacture of the ETICS extend to the production and provision of the system components. The EPD environmental results (Module A1-A3) of the individual components are used for the calculation of the ETICS-EPDs. These include, in addition to energy and raw material inputs, the raw material transport, the requirements for packaging materials, and, if applicable, post-industrial waste treatment. Valid EPDs exist for all materials.

Stadium der Errichtung des Bauwerks (A4-A5)

Module A4: This module accounts for a truck transport over 100 km to the installation site (diesel truck, EURO 6, 40 tonnes gross vehicle weight, 61% utilization). The transport distance can be project-specifically adjusted by linear scaling if required.

Module A5: The electricity consumption for installation (primarily the use of hand-held power tools) has been accounted for (7.57 MJ/m²). Treatment and disposal of packaging material. Credits for possible avoided burdens due to energy substitution of electricity and heat energy generation are declared in Module D and pertain only to the portion of primary material used (no secondary materials).
