Within the manufacturing process, the components of the adhesive component are first added together according to the corresponding formula and mixed under continuous stirring. In two steps, the adhesive component is then first applied to the carrier material on one side and dried in the drying unit. The process is then repeated for the other side. Some substrates are such that the adhesive component penetrates the substrate. In this case, one coating cycle is sufficient and the second adhesive coating step is omitted. To prevent the dry adhesive from sticking to each other when rolled up, a protective paper (liner) is applied to one of the adhesive sides. Thermal utilisation was assumed for the end-of-life cycle. Factory-specific data from 2023 was used for the production processes. For all other life cycle phases, data sets from Sphera Managed LCA Content (Content Version 2024.1) were used. The LCA model was created with the software LCA for Experts (version 10).

This EPD refers to 1 m of UZIN Plurafilm. The declared unit of 1 m was chosen as the operating data is recorded either per metre [m] or per square metre [m] and the sales unit is also given in m. Im Rahmen des Herstellungsprozesses werden die Komponenten der Klebstoffkomponente zunächst nach der entsprechenden Rezeptur zusammengefügt und unter ständigem Rühren vermischt. In zwei Schritten wird die Klebstoffkomponente dann zunächst auf der einen Seite auf das Trägermaterial aufgetragen und in der Trocknungseinheit getrocknet. Der Vorgang wird dann für die andere Seite wiederholt. Manche Substrate sind so beschaffen, dass die Klebstoffkomponente das Substrat durchdringt. In diesem Fall ist ein Beschichtungszyklus ausreichend und der zweite Schritt der Klebstoffbeschichtung entfällt. Um zu verhindern, dass der trockene Klebstoff beim Aufrollen aneinander klebt, wird auf eine der Klebeseiten ein Schutzpapier (Liner) aufgebracht.
Für den End-of-Life-Zyklus wurde eine thermische Verwertung angenommen.
Für die Produktionsprozesse wurden fabrikspezifische Daten aus dem Jahr 2023 verwendet. Für alle anderen Lebenszyklusphasen wurden Datensätze aus Sphera Managed LCA Content (Content Version 2024.1) verwendet. Das LCA-Modell wurde mit der Software LCA for Experts (Version 10) erstellt.
