Ultra Low Carbon Aluminiumprofile werden aus Aluminiumbolzen hergestellt, die eine bestimmte Umweltqualität aufweisen. Nach der Definition von Schüco umfasst diese Qualität Aluminiumbolzen, die ein definiertes Treibhauspotenzial nicht überschreiten und einen Post-Consumer-Schrottanteil von mindestens 75 % enthalten.
Die Einhaltung der geforderten Qualität (GWP & 75% Post-Consumer-Schrott) wird von den Bolzenlieferanten in Form einer EPD nachgewiesen.
Die Schüco Ultra Low Carbon Aluminiumprofile werden aus Aluminiumlegierungen hergestellt, die aus dem Leichtmetall Aluminium (Al) und verschiedenen Legierungselementen (wie Silizium, Kupfer, Mangan, Magnesium etc.) bestehen.
Die Rohaluminiumprofile können eloxiert, nass oder pulverbeschichtet werden (je nach Kundenwunsch).Ultra Low Carbon aluminium profiles are semi-finished products for use in Schüco windows, doors and façade systems.
Ultra Low Carbon aluminium profiles are manufactured from aluminium billets that have a defined environmental quality. According to Schüco's definition, this quality includes aluminium billets that do not exceed a defined GWP and contain a post-consumer scrap content of at least 75%.
Compliance with the required quality (GWP & 75% post-consumer scrap) is demonstrated by the billet suppliers in the form of an EPD.
Schüco Ultra Low Carbon aluminium profiles are made from aluminium alloys consisting of the light metal aluminium (Al) and various alloying elements (such as silicon, copper, manganese, magnesium, etc.).
The raw aluminium profiles can be anodized, wet- or powder-coated (depending on customer requirements).0Manufacture Cutting – The aluminium billets are cut to size. Heating – The aluminium billets are heated in an oven to between 460 °C and 530 °C so that it is easier to reach the plastic state of the metal during shaping. Extrusion – With typical compression of 6000–8000 MN/mm² on a cross-sectional area of billet, the hot aluminium billet is pressed through a pre-heated die. This is how the profile gets its geometric shape. Chilling – The profiles are cooled directly after the extrusion (there are various processes that use air, water or spray). Cooling is necessary for the final adhesive strength. Elongation – After extrusion the profiles are elongated in order to straighten them out. Cutting to length – Cutting the profiles according to customer requirements (default 6000 mm). Tempering – Hardening of the profiles at a temperature between 145 °C and 210 °C (5–12 hours). Packaging – This is followed by packing the profiles in accordance with customer requirements.

Auf diese Weise erhält das Profil seine geometrische Form. Kühlen - Die Profile werden direkt nach der Extrusion gekühlt (es gibt verschiedene Verfahren, die Luft, Wasser oder Spray verwenden). Die Kühlung ist notwendig, um die endgültige Festigkeit zu erreichen. Strecken - Nach dem Strangpressen werden die Profile gestreckt, um sie zu begradigen. Zuschneiden - Schneiden der Profile gemäß den Kundenanforderungen (Standard 6000 mm). Härten - Härtung der Profile bei einer Temperatur zwischen 145 °C und 210 °C (5–12 Stunden). Die vorliegende Umwelt-Produktdeklaration bezieht sich auf das 1 kg schwere pressblanke Schüco Ultra Low Carbon Aluminiumprofil.
Diese EPD basiert auf Daten von Aluminiumpresswerken, die Aluminiumprofile mit vergleichbaren Umwelteigenschaften herstellen. Die Herstellung dieser Aluminiumprofile erfordert technisch ähnliche Produktionsprozesse.

Aluminiumbolzen, die aus umgeschmolzenem Produktionsschrott hergestellt werden, verbleiben im Produktsystem und werden in A3 wiederverwendet.
Modul A4 umfasst den Transport des Aluminiumprofils zum Einbauort oder zur Wiederverwendung.
Modul A5 umfasst die Entsorgung des Verpackungsmaterials.
Modul C1 umfasst den Energiebedarf für die Demontage und Trennung der Materialien.
Modul C2 umfasst den Transport von Post-Consumer-Abfällen zur Abfallverarbeitung.
Modul C3 beinhaltet keine Umweltauswirkungen, da Aluminiumabfälle nach der Demontage den End-of-Waste-Zustand erreichen.

This EPD is based on data from aluminium extrusion plants that manufacture aluminium profiles with comparable environmental properties. The production of these aluminium profiles requires technically similar production processes.
In this EPD, the upstream aluminium production refers to a mixture of primary and secondary aluminium, with the shares determined using a conservative approach.
The data collected for this EPD relate to the years 2022-2024.
System boundary:

Modules A1 to A3 encompass the provision of all materials, auxiliaries, energy and packaging materials up to the factory gate, as well as waste treatment up to the End-of-Waste state or the disposal of the residues. Aluminium bolts, produced from remelted production scrap, remain in the product system and are reused in A3.
Module A4 includes the transport of the aluminium profile to the installation site or for reuse.
Module A5 includes the disposal of the packaging material.
Module C1 encompasses the energy requirement for dismantling and separation of the materials.
Module C2 encompasses the transport of post-consumer waste to waste processing.
Module C3 includes no environmental impacts, as aluminium scrap after dismantling reaches the End-of-Waste state.
Module C4 includes no environmental impacts, as it is expected that all waste will be recycled 100%.
