The declared reference product in this EPD is 1m2 Rockpanel A2 9 mm protect Plus cladding panel for facade cladding, roof detailing, soffits and fascias. The Rockpanel products presented in this declaration are produced in Roermond (Netherlands). The production data correspond to the full year 2022. 
System boundary: 
EPD type: Cradle to gate with options, C1–C4, and module D. The modules considered in the life cycle assessment as per system boundaries are described as follows:ProductionThe product stage A1-A3 includes:Provision of preliminary products and energy and relevant upstream processes;Transporting the raw materials and preliminary materials to ROCKWOOL production facilities;Production process in the ROCKWOOL production facilities including energy inputs and emissions;Electricity consumption, from purchased Renewable Energy Certificates (REC);Waste processing up to the end-of-waste state or disposal of waste residues, during the production stage;Production of packaging material;Manufacturing of products and co-product.The environmental impact of co-products from the steel and coal fired electricity production (slags, alumina and ashes entering the system as inputs to the manufacturing) is accounted for. Recycled stone wool comes free of environmental burden, as it enters the product system as waste. Their transport to the factory is accounted for. Modules A1, A2 and A3 are declared as an aggregated module A1-A3.Construction/InstallationThe Construction Stage A4-A5 includes:A4 transport to the building siteA5 installation to the buildingThe transport in A4 is modelled based on the amount of panels that fit in the truck. The values are based on annual average delivery data. In A5 the default installation is assumed to be manual, therefore no energy consumption or ancillary equipment is needed. This, as mentioned earlier can be backed up by the independent accelerated Durability Test by Bouw Technologie and also by the product specific ETA.End of LifeThe End-of-life stage C1-C4 includes:C1 de-construction, demolition;C2 transport to waste processing;C3 waste processing for reuse, recovery and/or recycling;C4 disposal.These stages also include provision and all transport, provision of all materials, products and related energy and water use. Manual deconstruction is assumed for C1 and no impacts are assigned. The benefits from disposal (heat or electricity recovery) are assigned to module D. Module D includes reuse, recovery and/or recycling potentials expressed as net loads and benefits. Die in dieser Erklärung vorgestellten Rockpanel Produkte werden in Roermond (Niederlande) hergestellt. Die Produktionsdaten beziehen sich auf das gesamte Jahr 2022. 
Systemgrenze: 
EPD-Typ: Cradle to Gate mit Optionen, C1-C4, und Modul D. Die in der Ökobilanz betrachteten Module gemäß Systemgrenzen werden wie folgt beschrieben: Produktion Die Produktstufe A1-A3 umfasst: Bereitstellung von Vorprodukten und Energie und relevante vorgelagerte Prozesse; Transport der Rohstoffe und Vormaterialien zu den ROCKWOOL Produktionsanlagen; Produktionsprozess in den ROCKWOOL Produktionsanlagen einschließlich Energieeinsatz und Emissionen; Stromverbrauch, aus gekauften Erneuerbare-Energien-Zertifikaten (REC); Abfallverarbeitung bis zum End-of-Waste-Zustand oder Entsorgung von Abfallresten, während der Produktionsstufe; Herstellung von Verpackungsmaterial; Herstellung von Produkten und Nebenprodukten.Die Umweltauswirkungen der Nebenprodukte aus der Stahl- und Kohleverstromung (Schlacken, Tonerde und Asche, die als Input in das System gelangen) werden berücksichtigt. Recycelte Steinwolle ist frei von Umweltbelastungen, da sie als Abfall in das Produktsystem gelangt. Ihr Transport zur Fabrik wird berücksichtigt. Die Module A1, A2 und A3 werden als aggregiertes Modul A1-A3 deklariert. Bau/Installation Die Bauphase A4-A5 umfasst: A4 Transport zur Baustelle A5 Installation im GebäudeDer Transport in A4 wird auf der Grundlage der Menge der Platten modelliert, die in den LKW passen. Die Werte beruhen auf durchschnittlichen jährlichen Lieferdaten. Bei A5 wird davon ausgegangen, dass die Installation standardmäßig manuell erfolgt, so dass kein Energieverbrauch und keine Zusatzgeräte erforderlich sind. Der Produktabfall bei der Installation wird mit 5 % angenommen und gemäß dem Modularitätsprinzip der EN 15804 werden seine Auswirkungen vollständig A5 zugeordnet. Die Stufe A5 umfasst gemäß EN 15804 auch die Abfallverarbeitung bis zum End-of-Waste-Zustand oder die Entsorgung der endgültigen Rückstände während des Bauprozesses sowie Auswirkungen und Aspekte im Zusammenhang mit Produktverlusten während der Installation. Schließlich umfasst das Modul A5 auch die entsprechenden End-of-Life-Betrachtungen für die Verpackung. Die Standardannahme für Installationsabfälle ist hier 100% Deponie. Gebäudenutzung Die Nutzungsphase B1-B7, die sich auf die Bausubstanz bezieht, umfasst: B1 - Nutzung oder Anwendung des installierten Produkts; B2 - Wartung; B3 - Reparatur; B4 - Austausch; B5 - Sanierung; B6 - Betrieblicher Energieverbrauch; B7 - Betrieblicher Wasserverbrauch;Rockpanel Steinwolle-Verkleidungsplatten sind dauerhaft in der Struktur installiert und erfordern unter normalen Nutzungsbedingungen keine Wartung, Reparatur, Austausch oder Sanierung. Ebenso hat Rockpanel keinen betrieblichen Energie- oder Wasserverbrauch. Die Funktionstüchtigkeit bleibt in der Regel 60 Jahre lang erhalten, wenn eine Beschichtung vorhanden ist. Dies kann, wie bereits erwähnt, durch den unabhängigen beschleunigten Dauerhaftigkeitstest von Bouw Technologie und auch durch die produktspezifische ETA bestätigt werden. Lebensende Die Lebensendphase C1-C4 umfasst: C1 Rückbau, Abriss; C2 Transport zur Abfallverarbeitung; C3 Abfallverarbeitung zur Wiederverwendung, Rückgewinnung und/oder Recycling; C4 Entsorgung. Für C1 wird ein manueller Rückbau angenommen und es werden keine Auswirkungen zugeordnet. Der Nutzen aus der Entsorgung (Wärme- oder Stromrückgewinnung) wird dem Modul D zugeordnet. Modul D umfasst Wiederverwendungs-, Rückgewinnungs- und/oder Recyclingpotenziale, die als Nettobelastungen und Nutzen ausgedrückt werden. Hier werden die Belastungen aus der Verpackungsentsorgung in A5 und aus der Stromerzeugung auf der Deponie berücksichtigt.
