<technologyDescriptionAndIncludedProcesses xml:lang="de">Kunststofffenster werden aus folgenden Komponenten gefertigt: den PVC-Rahmenprofilen mit Dichtungen und falls erforderlich einer Verstärkung, dem Isolier- glas sowie den Beschlägen. Abb. 2-1: Schematische Darstellung der Herstellung einer Fenstereinheit Die PVC-Profile werden im Extrusionsverfahren aus einer Mischung von PVC-Pulver und Additiven hergestellt. Letztere schützen das PVC vor Schädigungen während der Verarbeitung und verleihen dem Profil die erforderlichen Eigenschaften wie z. B. Schlagzähigkeit, Farbe und Witterungs-beständigkeit. Das PVC-Pulver zur Herstellung des Rahmens ist ein weit verbreiteter Massenkunststoff und wird durch Polymerisation hergestellt. Aufgrund seiner chemischen Struktur enthält PVC einen erheblichen Anteil des Halogens Chlor. Farbige Oberflächen können durch Anbringung einer Aluminiumdeckschale, Aufbringen einer Folie, Lackierung oder durch Koextrusion mit einer PMMA-Schicht erzeugt werden. Dichtungen werden entweder im Koextrusionsverfahren bereits bei der Extrusion mit dem Fensterprofil verbunden oder nachträglich eingerollt. Die Fensterprofile werden in Standardlängen an den Fensterhersteller geliefert. Dort werden die für das jeweilige Fenster erforderlichen Längen gesägt. Soweit erforderlich werden Stahlarmierungen eingeschoben und verschraubt. Anschließend werden die Profile geschweißt, die Beschläge angebracht und die Verglasung sowie die Glashalteleisten eingesetzt. Der Stahl zur Herstellung der Beschläge wird im Wesentlichen im Hochofenprozess aus Eisenerzen durch Reduktion mit Koks gewonnen. Die Rohstoffbasis für die Herstellung der Verglasung bildet Quarzsand unter Zugabe verschiedener Fluss- und Oxidationsmittel (Sodaasche, Natriumsulfat, Kali-umcarbonat etc.). In einem weiteren Verarbeitungs- schritt wird das geschmolzene Rohglas in eine Zinn-schmelze gegeben, aus der kontinuierlich ein flaches Glasband abgezogen wird (Floatglasverfahren). Güteüberwachung Die Mitgliedsunternehmen der GKFP e.V. unterliegen im Rahmen der freiwilligen Selbstverpflichtung einer externen Güteüberwachung. Diejenigen Kunststoff-Fensterprofilsysteme, die mit dem RAL Gütezeichen nach RAL-GZ 716 gekennzeichnet werden dürfen, sind auf der Webseite des Verbandes gkfp.de gelistet: gkfp.de/produktkompass/profilsysteme-mit-ral-guetezeichen Ebenfalls einer Fremdüberwachung unterliegen die Fensterhersteller, die das RAL Gütezeichen nach RAL-GZ 695 führen. Technische Daten: 
Die in der folgenden Tabelle angegebenen Werte bzw. Klassen gelten für das dieser EPD zugrunde liegende Referenzfenster. Abhängig von der Ausführung von Rahmen, Beschlag, Dichtungen und der Isolierglas-einheit werden weitaus höhere Leistungsklassen erreicht.

<technologyDescriptionAndIncludedProcesses xml:lang="en">Plastic windows are made of the following components: PVC frame profiles with gaskets and if necessary reinforcement, insulating glass unit and hardware. Fig. 2-1: Schematic diagram of the manufacture of a window unit The PVC profiles are produced in an extrusion process from a mixture of PVC powder and additives. The latter protect the PVC against damage during processing and give the profile the necessary characteristics such as impact resistance, colour and weather resistance. The PVC powder for producing the frames is a widely available mass plastic and is manufactured by polymerisation. Due to its chemical structure, PVC contains a considerable proportion of the halogen chlorine. Coloured surfaces can be produced by fitting an aluminium covering shell, applying a foil, coating or by co-extrusion with a PMMA layer. Gaskets are either attached to the window profile in a co-extrusion process during extrusion or rolled in subsequently. The window profiles are supplied to window manufacturers in standard lengths. There they are sawn to the lengths required for respective windows. As far as necessary, steel reinforcement is pushed in and screwed in place. The profiles are then welded, the hardware attached and the glazing and glazing beads inserted. The steel to produce the hardware is mainly manufactured from iron ore in a furnace process through reduction with coke. The raw material basis for the manufacture of the glazing is formed by quartz sand and the addition of various fluxing and oxidation agents (soda ash, sodium sulphate, potassium carbonate, etc.). Systemgrenze: 
Für die deklarierte Einheit wird der komplette Lebenszyklus von der Wiege bis zur Bahre betrachtet. Dabei sind das Produktionsstadium (Module A1–A3), die Errichtung des Bauwerks (A4, A5), das Nutzungsstadium (B1, B2), das Entsorgungsstadium (C1–C4) sowie Gutschriften und Lasten außerhalb der Systemgrenze (D) relevant, nicht aber die weiteren Module des Nutzungsstadiums (B3, B4).HerstellungFür die Herstellung findet die aggregierte Darstellung in Form von A1–A3 Verwendung. Darunter fallen die Bereitstellung von Rohstoffen und Energie, die Herstellung von Stahlverstärkung, Verglasung, Beschlag und PVC-Profil, die Transporte der Komponenten zum Fensterhersteller, die von diesem benötigten Energieverbräuche sowie anfallenden Produktionsabfälle. Insbesondere werden auch die Verbräuche für die Beheizung der Produktionsstätten sowie der angeschlossenen Räumlichkeiten berücksichtigt. Investitionsgüter (Maschinen, Gebäude etc.) bleiben hingegen unberücksichtigt. In Modul A4 werden die Transporte vom Fensterbauer zur Baustelle berücksichtigt und gemäß EN 17213 in Modul A5 die für den Einbau verwendeten Hilfs- und Betriebsstoffe sowie die Entsorgung von Verpackungsabfällen.NutzungDie auftretenden Transmissionswärmeverluste während der Nutzungsphase werden in Modul B1 berücksichtigt, die in 2.12 genannten Ersatzmaßnahmen der Fensterkomponenten in Modul B2.EntsorgungAlle Prozesse, die Ausbau, Abbau oder Abbruch des Fensters aus dem Gebäude betreffen und die nicht auf Gebäudeebene zu betrachten sind, werden in Modul C1 eingerechnet. Redistributionstransporte von der Baustelle zur Abfallbehandlung fallen in das Modul C2. This includes the provision of raw materials and energy, the production of steel reinforcement, glazing, hardware and PVC profile, transport of the components to the window manufacturer, the energy consumption needed for this and accruing production waste. The consumption for heating the production plants and also the attached rooms is also specifically included.
