Fundermax m.look-Schichtstoffplatten können auf Unterkonstruktionen aus Metall und Holz geklebt, geschraubt oder genietet werden. System boundary:
Die Ökobilanz der m.look-Schichtstoffplatte beinhaltet eine cradle-to-gate-Betrachtung (Wiege bis zum Werkstor) der auftretenden Umweltwirkungen mit den Modulen C1-C4 und Modul D (A1-A3,+C,+D). Die folgenden Lebenszyklusphasen werden in der Analyse berücksichtigt:
Modul
A1-A3 | Produktionsstadium
Das Produktionsstadium
beinhaltet die Aufwendungen der Rohstoffversorgung (mineralischer Füllstoff, Melaminharz, Glasvlies, Eisenoxid etc.) sowie der damit verbundenen Transporte bezogen auf den
Produktionsstandort in Wiener Neudorf. Innerhalb der Werksgrenzen werden die Prozessschritte zur Produktion der m.look-Produkte (Imprägnierung, Lackierung, Trocknung, Schneiden, Pressen, Besäumung) inklusive der Verpackung der Schichtstoffplatten betrachtet.
Der Herstellprozess wird dazu basierend auf den Primärdaten des betrachteten
Standortes abgebildet. Die Bereitstellung elektrischer Energie erfolgt am
Standort Wiener Neudorf über Strom vom österreichischen Netz. Thermische Energie wird einerseits über die thermische
Nachverbrennungsanlage am Standort und durch Erdgas bereitgestellt.
Modul C1 | Rückbau / Abriss
Für die Schichtstoffplatten wurde ein
manueller Ausbau angenommen. Die damit
verbundenen Aufwände sind vernachlässigbar,
wodurch keine Umweltwirkungen aus dem Rückbau
der Produkte deklariert werden.
Modul C2 | Transport zur Abfallbehandlung
Modul C2 beinhaltet den Transport zur Abfallbehandlung. Dazu wird der Transport via LKW über 50 km Transportdistanz als repräsentatives Szenario angesetzt.
Modul C3 | Abfallbehandlung
Das angesetzte Szenario deklariert die Deponierung der Schichtstoffplatten.
Entsprechende Umweltwirkungen werden im Modul C4 berücksichtigt, wodurch keine
Umweltauswirkungen aus der Abfallbehandlung der Produkte in C3 zu erwarten
sind.
Modul C4 | Beseitigung
Das Modul C4 beinhaltet die
durch die Deponierung der Schichtstoffplatten entstehenden Umweltwirkungen. Der
biogene Kohlenstoff im Dekorpapier der Produkte wird als Emissionen von biogenem
CO2 aus der Technosphäre in die natürliche Umwelt behandelt.
Modul D | Gutschriften und Lasten außerhalb der Systemgrenze
Das deklarierte Szenario geht von einer Deponierung des
Produktes aus, daher entstehen keine Nutzen und Lasten
außerhalb der Systemgrenze.Scope:
This Environmental Product Declaration refers to a declared unit of 1 m² of average m.look laminate boards (13 kg/m²) produced at the Wiener Neudorf site (Austria) under the brand names m.look, m.look NCore and NCore.
System boundary:
The life cycle assessment of the m.look laminate board includes a cradle-to-gate assessment (cradle-to-factory gate) of the environmental impacts with modules C1-C4 and Module D (A1-A3, +C, +D). The following life cycle stages are considered in the analysis:
Module A1-A3 | Production Stage
The production stage includes the inputs for raw material supply (mineral filler, melamine resin, glass mat, iron oxide, etc.) as well as the associated transport related to the production site in Wiener Neudorf. Within the plant boundaries, the process steps for producing the m.look products (impregnation, coating, drying, cutting, pressing, trimming) including the packaging of the laminate boards are considered.
The manufacturing process is depicted based on the primary data from the site under consideration. The supply of electric energy is provided at the Wiener Neudorf site via electricity from the Austrian grid. Thermal energy is provided on the one hand through the thermal afterburning plant at the site and by natural gas.
Module C1 | Deconstruction / Demolition
For the laminate boards, manual dismantling was assumed. The associated inputs are negligible, and thus no environmental impacts from the deconstruction of the products are declared.
Module C2 | Transport to Waste Treatment
Module C2 includes the transport to waste treatment. For this, transport by truck over a 50 km transport distance is assumed as a representative scenario.
Module C3 | Waste Treatment
The assumed scenario declares the landfilling of the laminate boards. Corresponding environmental impacts are accounted for in Module C4, thereby no environmental impacts from the waste treatment of the products in C3 are to be expected.
Module C4 | Disposal
Module C4 includes the environmental impacts arising from the landfilling of the laminate boards. The biogenic carbon in the decor paper of the products is treated as emissions of biogenic CO2 from the technosphere into the natural environment.
Module D | Credits and Burdens Outside the System Boundary
