<useAdviceForDataSet xml:lang="de">Scope:
Die vorliegende Umwelt-Produktdeklaration bezieht sich auf eine deklarierte Einheit von 1 m² MAX HPL-Schichtstoffplatte (1,5 kg/m²) produziert am Standort in Wiener Neudorf (Österreich) unter dem Markennamen MAX HPL-Schichtstoffplatte.

Ein separater EPD-Anhang enthält weitere Informationen über die Umweltauswirkungen von MAX HPL-Schichtstoffplatte mit einer Dicke von 0,8 mm.

System boundary:
Die Ökobilanz der MAX HPL-Schichtstoffplatte beinhaltet eine cradle-to-gate-Betrachtung (Wiege bis zum Werkstor) der auftretenden Umweltwirkungen mit den Modulen C1–C4 und Modul D (A1–A3,+C,+D). Die folgenden Lebenszyklusphasen werden in der Analyse berücksichtigt:

Modul A1–A3 | Produktionsstadium
Das Produktionsstadium beinhaltet die Aufwendungen der Rohstoffversorgung (Kraftpapier, Dekorpapier, Phenolharz, Melaminharz etc.) sowie der damit verbundenen Transporte bezogen auf den Produktionsstandort in Wiener Neudorf. Innerhalb der Werksgrenzen werden die Prozessschritte zur Produktion der HPL-Produkte (Imprägnierung, Lackierung, Trocknung, Schneiden, Pressen, Endfertigung) inklusive der Verpackung der Schichtstoffplatten betrachtet. Der Herstellprozess wird dazu basierend auf den Primärdaten des betrachteten Standortes abgebildet. Die Bereitstellung elektrischer Energie erfolgt am Standort Wiener Neudorf über Strom vom österreichischen Netz. Thermische Energie wird einerseits über die thermische Nachverbrennungsanlage am Standort und durch Erdgas bereitgestellt.

Modul C1 | Rückbau / Abriss
Die Produkte werden manuell oder mit geringem Maschineneinsatz rückgebaut. Somit ist davon auszugehen, dass der Energiebedarf für den Rückbau der Produkte einen vernachlässigbaren Faktor darstellt, wodurch in Modul C1 keine Umweltwirkungen aus dem Rückbau der Produkte deklariert werden.

Modul C2 | Transport zur Abfallbehandlung
Modul C2 beinhaltet den Transport zur Abfallbehandlung. Dazu wird der Transport via LKW über 50 km Transportdistanz als Szenario angesetzt.

Modul C3 | Abfallbehandlung
Im Fall der HPL-Produkte wird angenommen, dass diese an ihrem Lebensende in einer Müllverbrennungsanlage zur Erzeugung von Energie verwertet werden. Die Emissionen aus der Verbrennung sind dabei in Modul C3 deklariert. Basierend auf Informationen von Sphera wird ein R1-Wert der Müllverbrennungsanlage von &gt; 0,6 angenommen.

Modul C4 | Beseitigung
Die Umweltlasten aus der energetischen Verwertung der deklarierten Produkte werden in Modul C3 deklariert. Somit sind keine Aufwände in Modul C4 zu deklarieren.

Modul D | Nutzen und Lasten außerhalb der Systemgrenze
In Modul D werden die Substitutionspotenziale für Wärme und Strom aus der energetischen Verwertung des Produktes in Modul C3 in Form eines europäischen Durchschnittsszenarios beschrieben.</useAdviceForDataSet>
<useAdviceForDataSet xml:lang="en">Scope:
The present Environmental Product Declaration refers to a declared unit of 1 m² MAX HPL-Schichtstoffplatte (1.5 kg/m²) produced at the Wiener Neudorf site (Austria) under the brand name MAX HPL-Schichtstoffplatte.

A separate EPD annex contains further information on the environmental impacts of MAX HPL-Schichtstoffplatte with a thickness of 0.8 mm.

System boundary:
The life cycle assessment of MAX HPL-Schichtstoffplatte includes a cradle-to-gate assessment (cradle to gate) of the environmental impacts arising with the modules C1–C4 and Module D (A1–A3, +C, +D). The following life cycle stages are considered in the analysis:

Module A1–A3 | Production stage
The production stage includes the inputs for raw material supply (kraft paper, decor paper, phenol resin, melamine resin, etc.) as well as the associated transportation related to the production site in Wiener Neudorf. Within the plant boundaries, the process steps for the production of the HPL products (impregnation, coating, drying, cutting, pressing, final assembly) including the packaging of the laminate sheets are considered. The manufacturing process is modeled based on the primary data from the considered site. Electric energy is supplied at the Wiener Neudorf site via electricity from the Austrian grid. Thermal energy is provided, on the one hand, via the site's thermal post-combustion plant and by natural gas.

Module C1 | Demolition / Dismantling
The products are dismantled manually or with limited machine use. It is therefore assumed that the energy demand for dismantling the products represents a negligible factor, hence no environmental impacts from dismantling are declared in Module C1.

Module C2 | Transport to waste treatment
Module C2 includes transport to waste treatment. For this, road transport by truck over a transport distance of 50 km is assumed as the scenario.

Module C3 | Waste treatment
In the case of HPL products it is assumed that at end-of-life they are recovered in a waste incineration plant for energy generation. The emissions from the incineration are declared in Module C3. Based on information from Sphera, an R1-value of the waste incineration plant of &gt; 0.6 is assumed.

Module C4 | Disposal
The environmental burdens from the energy recovery of the declared products are declared in Module C3. Thus, no inputs/outputs are to be declared in Module C4.

Module D | Benefits and burdens outside the system boundary
In Module D the substitution potentials for heat and electricity from the energy recovery of the product in Module C3 are described in the form of a European average scenario.</useAdviceForDataSet>
