<technologyDescriptionAndIncludedProcesses xml:lang="de">Herstellung XPS wird in einem kontinuierlichen Extrusionsverfahren mit Strom als Hauptenergiequelle hergestellt. Polystyrolgranulat wird zusammen mit den genannten Hilfsstoffen im Extruder unter hohem Druck aufgeschmolzen. Das Treibmittel wird in der Schmelze gelöst und anschließend durch eine Breitschlitzdüse ausgetragen. Das Treibmittel schäumt die Schmelze durch den fallenden Gegendruck auf, kühlt sie ab und anschließend erstarrt das Polystyrol. Das Ergebnis ist ein kontinuierlicher Strang aus homogenem und geschlossenzelligem Polystyrol-Hartschaum. Dieser wird weiter abgekühlt und die Extrusionsschicht wird entfernt. Für die Beschichtung der Hartschaumplatten wird der Mörtel mit Wasser vermischt und zusammen mit dem Glasgewebe auf den XPS-Kern aufgetragen, getrocknet und die Platten anschließend kalibriert. Diese werden auf Paletten in Polyethylenfolie verpackt. XPS aus Produktionsresten und Produktionsabfällen kann direkt in der Produktion recycelt und zur Herstellung von XPS wiederverwendet werden. Polystyrol ist ein thermoplastisches Material, das heißt, es kann durch Schmelzen leicht und kostengünstig recycelt werden. 
Deklarierte Einheit: 
Die deklarierte Einheit ist 1 m² Austrotherm UNIPLATTE mit einer Plattenstärke von 20 mm. Die Platte besteht aus einer 18 mm starken XPS-Platte und beidseitiger Beschichtung mit Glasarmierungsgewebe und Mörtel von je ca.1 mm Stärke pro Seite. Das Flächengewicht beträgt 3,18 kg/m².</technologyDescriptionAndIncludedProcesses>
<technologyDescriptionAndIncludedProcesses xml:lang="en">Manufacture XPS is manufactured in a continuous extrusion process with electricity as the main energy source. Polystyrene granulate is melted together with the named auxiliary materials in the extruder under high pressure. The propellant is dissolved in the melted mass and then discharged through a wide slot nozzle. The propellant foams the melt as a result of the falling counterpressure, cools it down and then the polystyrene solidifies. The result is a continuous strand of homogeneous and closed-cell rigid polystyrene foam. This is cooled further and the extrusion layer is removed. To coat the rigid foam boards, the mortar is mixed with water and applied to the XPS core together with the glass fabric, dried and the boards then sized. These are packed onto pallets in polyethylene film. XPS from production leftover cuts and production scrap can be recycled directly in production and reused to produce XPS. Polystyrene is a thermoplastic material, meaning it can be easily and cost-effectively recycled by melting it.</technologyDescriptionAndIncludedProcesses>
